Create a new article

When Wikipedia lacks an article about some important topic you must not wait for someone else to do it. You can do it. That's how all Wikipedia articles have been created! Do check out your sandbox and start a new article there first. Your sandbox can be found up in the righthand corner, next to Talk.

Exercise

Go to the en:Wikipedia:Requested articles to find the items that are needed to be written on Wikipedia.
Click on the link to a topic that you are interested in and can help with.
Select one of the articles that you want to write.
Click on Sandbox up in the righthand corner and start writing your article
Write the new article. Here are some quick tips:
- The first word that the text starts with should be the article name in bold.
- The first sentence should be a narrative summary of the full article.
- You must formulate the text yourself.
- Use section headings, links to other articles, references and categories as appropriate. Feel free to imitate a similar article.
- Be sure to include at least one source.
Click the "Save" button.

The Deletion policy explains why pages sometimes are deleted. The most common reason is probably that the article is not notable for Wikipedia.
