I den svenska databasen Dyntaxa[8] används istället namnet Sphaerodorum flavum. Sphaerodorum gracilis ingår i släktet Sphaerodorum och familjen Sphaerodoridae.[8][21][22] Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.[8] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[21]
