Parmotrema xanthinum är en lavart[1] som först beskrevs av Johannes Müller Argoviensis, och fick sitt nu gällande namn av Hale. Parmotrema xanthinum ingår i släktet Parmotrema, och familjen Parmeliaceae.[2][3] Inga underarter finns listade.[2]
