Sammanfattning

Beskrivning Shift in time of periastron of PSR B1913+16 relative to a hypothetical system with a constant orbital period. The slow decrease in the real system's period is due to the emission of gravitational radiation and causes the parabolic shape of the graph. Red points are experimental data, and the blue line is the shift predicted by relativity. Error bars are shown, but are generally too small to be seen as distinct for most points.
